Eurostar cancels trains due to issue with Channel Tunnel's power supply
The high-speed rail operator said that a malfunction with the tunnel’s power system, combined with a failed Le Shuttle train, was expected to cause significant delays and last-minute cancellations. Passengers were strongly advised to reschedule their journeys for another day. "Please don’t come to the station unless you already have a ticket to travel," the company added in its latest update.
Services connecting London, Paris, and Brussels were among those affected, according to Eurostar’s website. Media reports noted that travelers at London’s St. Pancras station were informed via announcements in both English and French that all Tuesday departures had been cancelled.
Eurostar operates throughout Western Europe, providing connections between the UK, France, Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands.
